There is no download in either store. The Playio Casino site runs as an installable web app, which changes almost nothing about the games and quite a lot about how you search for them. This page covers the install routine, the screen space you lose and what a phone cannot do. Sign in from the Playio login page once the icon is saved.
Both routes load the same site. Opening the address in a browser gives immediate access with nothing stored on the handset. Saving the page to the home screen adds an icon, hides the browser toolbar and returns roughly a tab's worth of vertical space to the grid.
That extra space is the practical argument for installing. On a narrow screen the game grid shows very few tiles at once, so every row recovered is worth having.
Safari on iOS, Chrome on Android. Other browsers load the site correctly but do not always offer the install prompt.
On iOS use the share icon, then Add to Home Screen. On Android open the three-dot menu, then Install app.
Open the new icon and log in. The session persists, so the favourites shelf is available the next time you open it.
| Device | Browser | Install prompt |
|---|---|---|
| iOS (iPhone/iPad) | Safari / Chrome | Share menu, iOS 13 and above |
| Android | Chrome | Menu prompt, Android 8.0 and above |
| Windows | Chrome, Edge, Firefox | Address bar icon |
| macOS | Safari / Chrome | Dock shortcut |
The catalogue is complete on a phone. Finding a title inside it is harder, because the desktop filter row collapses into a single button.
Two consequences follow. Choosing a studio now takes two taps instead of one, and the sort control is hidden behind the same button. The search field, by contrast, stays visible at the top of every screen, which makes typing a name the fastest route on mobile by a wide margin.
Live tables suffer least. Their tiles carry stake limits, and those limits stay readable at phone size.
| Feature | Store app | Installed web app |

| Full game catalogue | Available | Available |
| Push notifications | Supported | Limited |
| Storage used | Hundreds of megabytes | An icon and cached files |
| Updates | Manual or scheduled | Always current on load |
| Availability | Store approval needed | Immediate |
Slots are light. Most of a slot loads once and then runs from cache, so a long session costs little data after the first few spins.
Live tables are the opposite. A streamed table sends continuous video, and an hour on the live floor uses far more data than an hour on slots. On a metered connection, keep the live floor for wi-fi.
Nothing is missing from the catalogue, the cashier or support. What is missing is screen space, and the interface pays for it by hiding controls.
Side-by-side comparison is the clearest loss. Two studios cannot be viewed together, game information panels cover the reels rather than sitting beside them, and long tables of terms need horizontal scrolling.
No. Anything presented as an official store download should be treated with suspicion, because the operator distributes through the browser only.
Only a shortcut and a small cache. The games themselves are streamed and are not stored on the handset.
Yes. The cashier is complete on mobile, including card, wallet and crypto routes, with deposits from 15 C$.
No. A round is settled on the server, so an interrupted spin resolves and the result appears when the session reconnects.
Yes, on the same eligible titles as on desktop. The spin counter appears inside the game rather than in the lobby.
Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android are the two the site is built around. Firefox and Edge run the games but handle the install prompt less predictably.
